Task 9 – News Reporting

Current Event:

Major news events that took place recently in China, the United States, or other parts of the world. Including, but not limited to, headline news about political, military, economic subjects, accidents, natural disasters, etc.

KEY: Ignore the pattern or structure of the source text. Use your OWN words and sentences to report your version of the news. Be sure to include, if possible, the five “W”s (EEIs).

Be sure to start with 据……报道, then follow with all EEI information.
REMEMBER:
In this task, students can ONLY report information from the news story. Students can NOT add personal opinions.

Therefore, the following words can NEVER be used in your news report:
我;
我认为;
依我看;
就我看来; etc.
Important:
No personal opinions allowed. Avoid 我认为 / 我觉得 / 依我看. This task evaluates organization of EEIs, not memorization.
